VACANCIES ON THE VIRGIN ISLANDS RECOVERY AND DEVELOPMENT BOARD
The Government of the Virgin Islands invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals to serve as members of the Virgin Islands Recovery and Development Board (RDA Board), established under the Virgin Islands Recovery and Development Agency Act, 2018.
The Board serves as the governing body of the Virgin Islands Recovery and Development Agency (RDA) and plays a critical role in overseeing the implementation of development projects, ensuring sound governance, and supporting the continued recovery and development of the Virgin Islands.
Role and Responsibilities
Members of the Board are responsible for:
- Providing strategic oversight and direction to the Agency;
- Ensuring that projects are implemented efficiently and deliver value for money;
- Approving procurement processes and major contracts;
- Promoting transparency, accountability, and good governance; and
- Supporting the effective execution of the Virgin Islands Recovery and Development Plan.
Eligibility and Criteria
Applicants including residents of the sister islands, should:
- Be persons of integrity, sound judgment, and high ethical standards.
- Possess relevant professional experience in areas such as:
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of governance and oversight responsibilities; and
- Be willing to commit the time required to effectively discharge the duties of a Board member.

-Law and governance
-Engineering, infrastructure, or project management
-Business, economics, or public administration
Composition of the Board
Appointments to the Board will be made in accordance with the provisions of the Virgin Islands Recovery and Development Agency Act, 2018, which provides for a Board comprising not less than seven and not more than nine members appointed through established statutory processes.
Not all positions on the Board may be filled through this application process, as certain appointments are made in accordance with the provisions of the Act.
Terms of Appointment
- Members are appointed for a period not exceeding three (3) years and may be eligible for re-appointment in accordance with the Act;
- Members may be required to serve on committees of the Board; and
- Remuneration will be in accordance with Government’s policy for statutory boards and committees.
Additional Information
Appointments will be made in accordance with the Virgin Islands Recovery and Development Agency Act, 2018 and applicable Government policies. The Government reserves the right to make appointments in a manner that ensures an appropriate balance of skills, experience, and representation on the Board.
