You can indicate your interest in one or more of the following positions:

• Tally Clerk
• Counting Clerk
• Poll Clerk
• Presiding Officer
• Returning Officer

Assignment to a particular position is not guaranteed.

When completing the application, you will need to provide:

• your full name;
• physical address;
• telephone numbers;
• date of birth;
• NHI number;
• email address;
• current employment status and place of employment, if applicable;
• whether you are a registered voter and your electoral district, if applicable;
• any languages other than English that you speak fluently;
• details of any previous experience as an Election Officer; and
• the Election Officer position or positions in which you are interested.

1. Download the Application for Election Officers.
2. Complete all applicable sections of the form.
3. Indicate the Election Officer position or positions in which you are interested.
4. Read the declaration and sign and date the application.
5. Submit the completed application to the Office of the Supervisor of Elections.

You can apply whether or not you have previously served as an Election Officer.

If you have previous election experience, provide the positions you have held, beginning with the most recent.

Prospective Election Officers are required to attend mandatory training sessions.

The Office of the Supervisor of Elections will contact applicants by telephone and/or email when training sessions are scheduled.

Completing the application and training does not guarantee that you will be assigned to work during an election.

Applicants become part of a pool of prospective Election Officers.

Selection for election duty may be based on:

• your availability;
• your proficiency in using electronic voting equipment;
• your knowledge and skills relating to the duties of the position;
• your ability to deal with members of the public in a courteous, patient and efficient manner; and
• the number of Election Officers required for the election.

By signing the application, you certify that the information you have provided is true and correct and agree to comply with applicable election laws and mandatory training requirements.

Election Officers serve at the discretion of the Supervisor of Elections and may be removed where their actions warrant removal.

Your application will be considered by the Office of the Supervisor of Elections.

Prospective officers will be contacted when mandatory training sessions are scheduled. Officers are selected for official election duty from the pool of prospective Election Officers based on the needs of the election and their suitability for the available roles.

Being accepted into the prospective Election Officer pool does not guarantee selection for a particular election.
