 Qualified Companies Invited to Bid for Contract to Maintain Beaches at Jost Van Dyke

The Government of the Virgin Islands is accepting bids to award a contract for the maintenance of beaches at Great Harbour and White Bay, located on Jost Van Dyke,  for a period of one year.

The beach at Great Harbour measures approximately 1,564 feet and the beach at White Bay measures approximately 1,615 feet. Proposed works consist of removal and disposal of seaweed, debris, garbage such as cans, bottle, cups, bags, paper, plastic, sticks, leaves, etc. three times weekly.  Removal and disposal of grass and small shrubs that continue to grow on the beach twice weekly.

Other scopes of work include, raking of beach for upkeep to ensure aesthetic appearance three times weekly.  Monitor beach for sand mining and other Illegal activities to prevent unauthorised removal of sand from the offshore zone, the beach and the land behind the beach and report such activity to the Ministry of Environment, Natural Resources and Climate Change. 

In the event large objects wash ashore, the contractor shall contact the Ministry of Environment, Natural Resources and Climate Change to arrange for disposal off site.

Work shall commence no earlier than 6:00a.m. and shall be completed by 12 p.m. the same day. Alternate times may be approved on occasions.

Interested tenderers are asked to furnish the  documents such as, quotation of work, contact information (address, email and contact number) certificates of good standing from Inland Revenue Department, Social Security Board, National Health Insurance, and Company Registry, if an incorporated company.  Valid trade license for 2026 for cleaning/maintenance services and list of jobs of similar nature

Failure on the part of tenderers to enclose the supporting documentation indicated above will render the tender non-responsive on the date of 30 April, 2026.

All tenders must be hand-delivered to the Ministry of Environment, Natural Resources and Climate Change, #44 Pusser’s Building, Lower Estate, Road Town, Tortola, Virgin Islands or sent via e-mail, in a non-editable format, to the Permanent Secretary at menrcc&gov.vg. 

The filename and e-mail subject must bear the applicant’s name and the title “MAINTENANCE OF BEACHES AT GREAT HARBOUR AND WHITE BAY, JOST VAN DYKE”. 

Tenders must be submitted no later than 30 April, 2026 at 4:00p.m. Late submissions will not be accepted after the due date.

The Government of the Virgin Islands does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any other tender.
