The Premier’s Office is inviting Expressions of Interest from qualified and service-minded individuals who are willing to contribute to the continued strengthening of the Virgin Islands’ agriculture and fisheries sectors through service on the Commercial Agriculture and Fisheries Grants Committee.

This Committee will play a key role in the administration of the Virgin Islands Commercial Agriculture and Fisheries Grants Programme, including the review of applications and recommendations to the Minister in keeping with the requirements outlined in the policy. 

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR 

We are looking for persons with knowledge and experience in the following areas: 

1. Experts with demonstrated experience in farming, fisheries, aquaponics, or related fields; 

2. A strong background in accounting, finance, auditing, or related disciplines; 

3. Legal training or experience, preferably in public administration or regulatory compliance; 

4. A senior representative from the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries or another relevant Government agency 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES 

Members of the Committee will be expected to: 

• review and evaluate grant applications in accordance with the policy’s criteria; 

• request additional information from applicants where necessary; 

• make recommendations to the Minister for approval or non-approval of applications; 

• uphold principles of transparency, fairness, and accountability as set out in the policy, including signing the required Conflict-of-Interest Declaration

ELIGIBILITY
 

Applicants should:
• be of good character and integrity;
• possess relevant professional experience and knowledge in one of the required 
areas;
• be willing and able to commit the time needed to carry out the responsibilities of 
the Committee.
