Governor’s Office to host special events for future scholars, alumni and partners

The Governor’s Office in the Virgin Islands is delighted to announce that the application window for the Chevening scholarship programme, for the 2026–27 academic year, is open.

Chevening is the UK Government’s prestigious international scholarship programme that offers future leaders the opportunity to pursue a fully funded one-year master’s degree, at any leading UK university. The programme is aimed at individuals with a strong academic background and some work experience, leadership potential and - above all - a passion for driving positive change.

With this year’s application cycle underway, the Governor’s Office here in the Virgin Islands will host a special Chevening event on Tuesday, 9 September 2025 at the Old Government House Museum, Road Town from 6:00 pm. The event will bring together prospective scholars, alumni and local partners, offering valuable insights into the application process, showcasing the positive impact of Chevening alumni in the Virgin Islands, and foster connections among those committed to excellence and leadership.

Those interested in attending the event, should register their interest by emailing andrea.blumire2@fcdo.gov.uk.

Applications for Chevening Scholarships must be submitted online by 7 October 2025. An application workshop is scheduled to be held at the Governor’s Office on Wednesday 17 September 2025 from 12:30 – 2:00 pm. To register your interest, please email andrea.blumire2@fcdo.gov.uk
