Notice to Tenderers Government Invites Tenders for Management and Maintenance of North Sound Cemetery

The Government of the Virgin Islands, through the Ministry of Health and Social Development, is inviting tenders from suitably qualified and reputable local companies for the management and maintenance of the North Sound Public Cemetery in Virgin Gorda.

This initiative forms part of the Government’s ongoing commitment to preserving public burial grounds and ensuring that these sacred spaces are maintained with dignity, order and respect for residents and visitors alike.

The successful service provider will be responsible for the overall upkeep of the cemetery, including weekly maintenance to ensure cleanliness and proper appearance, repair and maintenance of tombs and tombstones, oversight of burial plot selection, and ensuring that burial activities and vault construction adhere to Ministry guidelines. The contractor will also be required to maintain the sanctity and safety of the cemetery grounds, facilitate daily public access between 6:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., and ensure the timely removal of debris following burials.

The engagement will be for a two-year period, and tenderers are required to visit the site in advance to assess existing conditions and determine the resources needed to carry out the services effectively.

Interested tenderers must submit a complete tender package, including a financial proposal, evidence of experience on similar projects, and details of key personnel. All submissions must also be accompanied by valid Certificates of Good Standing from the Social Security Board, National Health Insurance, and the Inland Revenue Department, as well as a valid trade or business licence.

Tenders must be submitted in hard copy to the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health and Social Development, at Voronica’s House of Commerce, Road Town, Tortola, no later than 10:00 a.m. on February 16, 2026. Late submissions will not be considered.

The Ministry encourages all eligible and qualified local contractors to participate in this procurement process as the Government continues its efforts to strengthen public services and infrastructure across the Territory.
